On January 17, 2023, the Cyprus Tax Department revealed the creation of the Tax For All (TFA) system, which is intended to gradually replace the existing TAXISnet platform. The initial phase will target VAT-registered individuals and businesses.
The TFA portal went live on March 27 and was accompanied by a series of updates related to VAT submissions and deadlines. These updates, implemented last month, ensure a seamless transition to the new platform, with more changes expected in the coming months.
Starting March 27, 2023, the TFA portal will exclusively manage all VAT and VIES obligations, including specialized schemes for taxi drivers and farmers. Intrastat Returns, however, will still be submitted through the current TAXISnet system and integrated into TFA at a later stage.
From March 27, 2023, VAT payments will need to utilize TFA portal’s reference codes and slips. Payment methods include credit and debit cards, online banking, or cash desks at commercial banks.
To help users familiarize themselves with the new system, the tax department has extended the deadline for submitting Q4 VAT returns from the previous year and the deadline for the March VIES report to April 26.
Additionally, the deadline for filing tax returns for the period between January 1 and March 31 has been postponed to May 26.
